I have light grey carpet and it gets mucky so quick . I’m thinking of having hard wood flooring? Anyone else got this ?
Is it good? Better than carpet ?
Hate how quick this floor gets mucky 😞

And if you do choose wool- see my post up thread about moth infestations! 😬

And its really hard to get stains out of!

My kids are horrendous at spilling stuff and not telling me! On wool carpets, any stain needs removing immediately so not great when you have kids or dogs.

We have fitted carpet in our living room (wool) , now looking a bit rough but not dreadful, after 12 years. Someone is coming to restore the floorboards and we will then buy a rug. So it’s twice the price of a wool carpet. I’m really hoping I don’t find it cold and noisy, but if I do at least the responses on this thread confirm it will help when it comes to selling the house.

Because most modern carpets are made from man made synthetic fibres, so made using fossil fuels and use a lot of energy to make them.

And then disposal of them also means landfill as they have too many layers to recycle and pull apart, or if you burn them they release toxic chemicals into the environment.

'Most carpets' are not made of synthetic fibres, most carpets at the low end may be, but the majority of carpets above the low end are wool, and hessian backed, so will rot in landfill.
