Making small deli aware of wrong label

If you had a small local deli that do lots of deliveries all over your city would you raise this…
we ordered a load of food including “steak bake” type pastries.
Dh had one for lunch today and his steak turned out to be turkey and ham.
He thought nothing of it and ate it (was lovely as expected etc) and I sent a quick message through their insta (private) just to let them know the individually wrapped item was labelled wrong.
Dh thinks this was overkill and I’m now going to be known as “that” customer, we go in a lot know most of the staff.
My message was literally saying everything was lovely but highlighting the mistake more for their benefit than mine we have no allergies etc.
Would anyone else have bothered or actually am I turning into a middle age busybody?

Sounds like you haven’t even read the OP really. The entire point is that it was labelled as a steak bake but when he ate it it was actually turkey and ham, so obviously the turkey and ham bake ingredients were not all on the label because it was mislabelled….

Ever seen a list of ingredients including “steak”? The complaint could be that it should have been called “Meat bake” instead of “steak bake” so perhaps a misrepresentation but definitely nothing to do with labelling rules on ingredients which carry legal consequences (and rightly so) or allergy/religious reasons.

It’s completely normal for you to raise this with the business, I can’t believe there are people who think this is a non issue or that you shouldn’t point it out!
Not only allergies but my baby is diabetic and there are times we just need to find food to eat out and about, it’s already hard enough figuring out the carbs and having to inject insulin, it’s frustrating to think the totally wrong information is printed on the label.

Oh come on, this is getting ridiculously pedantic. Up and down the country, bakeries sell steak bakes, steak pies and steak bridies, and everyone knows that means beef.

Nobody ordering a steak bake reasonably expects to find turkey and ham inside it. If it’s turkey and ham, call it a turkey and ham bake!

The OP was perfectly reasonable to flag it, and I’m sure the deli would rather know they’d labelled something incorrectly. Why are people making this so complicated?

"Steak" alone refers to beef. If it is another meat that would be specified e.g. Turkey steak, pork steak.

You are being incredibly obtuse and you know it. And since when has steak referred to a mixed meat sandwich including ham? Ham isn’t steak.
