I have a few extra tins in the cupboard, battery powered lights and I could get some cash out but tbh where are people supposed to keep all this stuff? All the bottled water? What about the micropastics fgs! (Light hearted post btw)

I like to think of myself as well prepared but I guarantee there will be something/ s I have missed

Like disposable plates and cutlery. Little washing up needed then. *Suggested on another thread.

How do you fill it up in power cut though. Water usually dies with the electricity?

I’ve had numerous power cuts in my house over the past few winters, they have never affected the water supply, taps and loo work as usual. If you have a combi boiler then you won’t have hot water, but there would have to be a major issue for there being no water to flush the loo.

I think the useful way to see it is the same as a spare tyre: you hope you won't need it. Three days covers the everyday stuff, like a long power cut, a burst water main or a storm, not anything dramatic. A few bottles of water, food you'd eat cold, a torch and some cash, and you're done.

that would be because that particular power cut didn't affect your water plant.
