Driveway parking at the rear of the house rather than at the front. Can then walk immediately round to the front (15 seconds).

A deal breaker or not?

Its good to have your car round the back as people cannot tell easily if you are home or not. If like me you are one of those people who does not answer the door unless you expect a package or a visitor.

Friend of mine hired a cottage for a season and was unwise enough to admit she was a novelist. She had people coming around pestering her until she took to parking her car round the back, putting a bolt on the side gate (so people could not walk around) and not answering the door.
