Merging into a road

So on day a motorway you are supposed to stay in the left hand lane and those merging into the motorway way shouldn’t affect your speed.

Hardly anyone does this and I’m left with a situation whereby I cause a crash regardless of my action.

every work day I have to merge onto the motorway and it on a hill, and my car is very slow. I don’t have enough road before the merge to build up speed (due to traffic lights and speed restrictions) so I either have to stop and wait to merge, have a car pull into the middle lane (harder in fast flowing heavy traffic) or I merge when I’m going to slow everyone down.

it seems people aren’t aware of rules. I’ve been on a roundabout and someone pulled into the lane and prevented me from using that
lane - because there are two lanes therefore I should go in the outside lane. There are no road markings on the Motorway.

You are right that joining traffic should not impact traffic already on the motorway, it is tricky because people rarely follow the motorway rules so you end up in a situation where there are cars in multiple lanes, is there no way you can get your car up to speed faster (stay in a lower gear for longer etc) I think you just have to do your best

Can you take another road and join the motorway at a later junction if that junction is particularly difficult for you.
