To get a monthly massage?

I’m only half joking. But I’m so tense at the moment and headed for a spontaneous massage tonight and I feel like it could actually be beneficial to add it into my routine 🤣

I get them monthly because when I get one my masseuse says I'm tense and I need another one again soon.

I used to make a point of going for a deep tissue massage every month, and an Indian head massage and reflexology a fortnight later, but now everything is so expensive that it is difficult to balance the books. It was brilliant to have even two weekends a month where my neck, back, shoulders and calves weren't tense!

Absolutely not! I have one every 4 weeks and it’s been such a game changer I wouldn’t stop.
I suffered from tense neck and shoulders which contributed to cluster migraines a 4 weekly massage stops it building. I’m happier and it’s so lovely to have something that’s helpful to me
Totally recommend ❤️

A previous masseur of mine once told me that one-off massages, if you're not used to them, can be quite emotionally intense.

I go to my current one about once every six weeks and he trims my bush for free too.

I go for a weekly sauna as my treat.
My work mate told me to try an icebath.
I did. I've still not 100% forgiven him. do not do that ever!, ok once, then you know why not. You might love them, everybody is different, i did not find having a freezing bath, unless I'm having a hot flush icebaths are not my thing.
I think I might start doing a monthly massage myself. I do not have nights out, no husband kids or pets, why not.
Prioritise your wellbeing. It's your monthly treat.
Remember at one time we all did the cinema, pizza, meals out, theatre, & somewhere along the line those got fogotten, so do this.

Its your money, you earned it. Treat yourself.

If I could afford it, I’d have one daily!

Purpleturtle45 · Yesterday 19:20

My old boss used to do that and I thought it was a great idea, if you can afford it then why the hell not??

Hatty65 · Yesterday 19:20

I go every two weeks, sometimes weekly if I can manage it. I'm retired with a chronic health condition and it's one of the regular things I do to try and help myself.
I spend very little on myself for hair, nails, makeup, clothes etc - but I'm prepared to buy books and have a massage.

Ikeameatballlunch · Yesterday 19:22

I was given a set of massages via a charity after I was diagnosed with cancer and had to come off hrt; worked like an absolute charm.

Am thinking of getting one monthly too. Maybe initially more often

I have a foam roller too

RandomUserName12345 · Yesterday 19:23

Cost of living. Can't afford it. Would if I could!

Hang on… what?!

Vidalbuffay · Yesterday 19:27

I used to go to an amazing massage place for years but sadly it closed, and I haven’t been anywhere since as I’m plus sized and embarrassed about trying someone new

My massage therapist offers cupping and acupuncture as extras, didn't know some of them did hedge maintenance too.

I genuinely had a spiritual experience 🤣 it was glorious

For the last year, I have gone for a massage, reflexology, acupuncture, other treatment, or a combination every month! It's been so good for both my physical and mental wellbeing.

If it's affordable, don't hesitate!

InveterateWineDrinker · Yesterday 19:53

@thefeelingofbeingalive So happy for you!

@AppropriateAdult , @Gravygranules ... It might be helpful to clarify that the masseur and I are both men. I am straight and happily married... he is gay, as are most of his clients. Manscaping is included in his regular tariff and when I asked for a discount instead he declined, so I opted to have it. There's probably more touching and moving things around than strictly necessary, but my wife lost all interest in sex years ago and I'm not really going to complain about a bit of mild fluffing.

BogRollBOGOF · Yesterday 20:02

I have a monthly "MOT" alternating between the osteopath and sports massage. I don't spend on beauty and the cost of it is in the realm that many people do spend on things like hair and nails. It makes me feel better physically and I can afford it so win-win!

TheRealSmurfette · Yesterday 20:06

I’d have a massage every day if I could!

OhBettyCalmDown · Yesterday 20:09

If you can afford it go for it. I would in your position

Snackpocket · Yesterday 21:29

Do it, I go monthly and I bloody love it.

GreenFootstool · Yesterday 21:30

I recently got a promotion with a significant payrise and I've decided £50/month will be spent on a massage for me.

I try and go every 8 weeks.

Not been for a while so thanks for the reminder. Off to book now

Balloonhearts · Yesterday 21:32

I go every week if I can afford it. I have chronic pain that is worsened by back and neck tension, so it really helps me.

IDontLikePinaColadas · Yesterday 21:33

I went for a facial this weekend and have decided to have one once a month going forward. My very sensitive back does not get on with massages otherwise I would do that too!
