AIBU to think this dad should show more control in front of his DC?

I'm talking about the DC being an older teenager with a car.
Went to the village shop this morning and there was a car half-way up the pavement (narrow street_with a flat tyre.
After coming out of the shop had to pass the said car and the teenager was standing in the road and his dad was wedge under the car trying to put the trolley jack under it.
I did not beep or anything, but he jumped up and practically snarled at me "Go on then!" so i just drove by.
Then in my rear view mirror saw him HURLING the trolley jack into the nearby playground and jumping up and down like a child!
His poor teenage son looked really embarassed!
Yes, punctures are PITA but at least he was not on the side of a busy road in the rain.

are you sure he hadn't just dropped the jack on his toe???

No because it was already on the ground and he picked it up to throw it and he was already loosing his temper when i had to pass him!

most teenagers look embarrassed just being out with their parents!!

He was obviously having a bad day...

Maybe they were on their way somewhere very important... I'm sure they weren't looking on the bright side at that particular moment in time

I don't know - I think this is probably a bit like the woman storming out of the restaurant thread.

Ok, it's not behaviour that's going to win "parent of the year award". But we've all had bad days - maybe he'd been lying there trying to fix the tyre for 2 hours with people beeping and swearing at him and his son saying "dad, you're doing it all wrong. Why didn't you join the AA anyway you tight-wad?"

So I might stifle a smile as I drove on and thank god it wasn't me in their shoes, but I wouldn't judge without knowing the circs.

Just glad he did not throw it as we were passing!
