Soooooo
Not going to go into details but currently going through the financials in mediation. Stbxh is as usual evasive and vague. Most of his papers are missing, stuff isn't disclosed, and those papers that have been submitted paint an interesting picture. Obviously multiple discrepancies. He comes out with ever more fantastical tales until he just suddenly gave up and confessed something pretty major to the mediators. I won't say what is was. Just that I'm not the only one who'll be pretty peed off with him. He's now oh so upset and doing the whole woe is me thing. I'm feeling pretty proud that I managed to rein in emotion and do my homework, because if I hadn't kept pushing, he'd have got away with it. Funnily enough, if he hadn't have said exactly what he'd done, I'm not sure I'd have ever realised based on the evidence available to me.

It was a bit of a shock but shouldn't have been. Once a Pinocchio, always a Pinocchio.

So do I deserve a cheer, oh wise Mumsnetters?

In the actual courtroom I watched exh's facade slip. Oh my days it was a fucking glorious moment. Security were actually called as he attempted to reach me from the dock..after 4 years of trying to discredit me...

He lost his entire case btw...

What really got me was his crocodile tears. He actually apologised for the first time ever. I used to think that all the crap that came my way couldn't have been abuse. Because abusers were sorry afterwards and tried to make it better. He never did. It was really validating because I've got no doubt the mediators were able to recognise exactly who he was in that session.
I love karma!
Congrats on the case!
