we have had to pay to replace two lots of braces. aibu in not wanting to replace the current set when he lsoes them? we have also had to pay for dental hygienist as nhs doesnt cover this
lets not even start on school uniform. his swimsuit is currently somewhere in the school cloakroom, all wet and scrunched up since it was used on thursday.
his raincoat has been awol for a few weeks now.
wwwhat else? he hasnt been palyin gon his psp for a few weeks. is it becayse he is bored of it, or something more sinister? maybe he has lost the charger?

I used to be a little unlucky with my oh-so-glamorous glasses and my mum used to make me wear them in their patched state. One time I was cleaning them and the bridge snapped in half - my grandad attached the 2 halves together with a metal plate, which turned my nose a bit green so I had to wrap it in micropore - I found I took better care of them after this kind of thing.

Or you could try getting one of those elastic things that goes around the head to hold the glasses in place for playing sport etc and make him wear it all the time.

It is possible to get some breakages repaired - I recently had my much-more-glamorous-and-therefore-horribly-expensive glasses repaired for £25; one side of the bridge had come detached from the lens holder. Perhaps you could try that? Or is it more about the lenses - maybe go for plastic lenses instead?

Get him plastic framed glasses, but you can't make him look a twat as punishment, it's perfectly feasible that they are getting broken but other people. my glasses fall off my face sometimes, and I am 28 and buy my own.

these look tough

TBH i would probably do the same thing with respect of taking them away for a period of time (obviously not during school as if he needs glasses how will he get on with his schoolwork?) also i was quite clumsy as a child and my mum started making me 'pay' for anything i broke out of my (measly) pocket money does he get pocket money? if he does maybe think about reducing it a bit for every pair of glasses/set of braces he breaks or loses. he will notice the difference if he cant have whatever treats he is usually used to as he cant afford them anymore school things are par for the course as his things could get picked up by another child/dropped/left in changing room and thrown away by caretaker etc
