To ask for opinions on this backpacking route?

I’m looking at a two and a half week backpacking trip next summer, and I think I’ve found a route I’m happy with. I’m just looking for opinions on whether I need to do longer in some places or less time in others:

1. Porto - 3 nights
2. lisbon - 3 nights
3. Malaga - 3 nights
4. madrid - 3 nights
5. barcelona - 4 nights

I think it’s pretty doable and cost effective with hostels in some places, Airbnbs in others and then a splurge on a hotel in Barcelona. AIBU to do it this way? Is there anywhere I should drop/add?

I'm going to avoid the Inbetweeners 2 style discussion regarding the definition of backpacking 😂

Sounds like a lovely trip but I would try to spend less time in Barcelona in favour of maybe Cadiz/Valencia/Grenada

i’ve deviated slightly from my original plan, and this is what I’ve settled on:

start in Lisbon, and head to Barcelona where I’ll stay outside of the city on the beach. From Barcelona, a short flight on to Geneva where I’ll be staying in a small town on the lake. Then on to Innsbruck and then onto the dolomites

20 years. Since the days of "first name terms", the same group of posters. It was witty, clever and cliquey, but not pointlessly aggro.

It's just I didnt think there was anything controversial about backpacking that required "but you do you". Just lazy point scoring.

Porto is my favourite city in Europe. So beautiful and a great atmosphere. Personally I was disappointed by Croatia! It's so subjective.

I agree too, I've been on here 22 years. Of course it's not the worst thing I've ever read but it's just so pathetic. 'You do you' ffs.
