I have a disabled dc and was at a support group this morning for parents with disabled dc.
We were chatting about some of the crap we have to deal with day to day. One mum and dad who have two children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Both children are at mainstream school and doing well as school are great and they have alot of support in place. One issue is the other children being mean and leaving them out of games etc. So I shared a shared story about my younger cousin at school.
My younger cousin was a little twat at school and was a bully tbh ( he's ok now and is ashamed of how he was at primary school) He was horrible to everyone including a boy in a couple of years above him who was deaf. My cousin even taught himself some insults in sign language to sign to the boy. So basically he didn't discriminate who he was a twat too. He treated everyone the same.
I think my cousin showed real inclusion. AIbu
