They are utter cowards and hypocritical. The same ilk will state they're against the burkha and protests by environmental groups etc. but are happy to mask their faces in 'protest' the reality is they're just nasty specimens of humanity, full of people with self righteous white supremacy tendencies. AIBU.

Not always, no.
Do you accept that too?

It’s possible but I’ve never had the problem, no, I think there’s one or two models/actors who are trans and I wouldn’t have guessed, but mostly there are subtle things that make it noticeable. And there are many unsubtle things that make it obvious a man in a burqa is a man in a burqa.

You accused me of stereotyping, sharing sensitive info, making things up and various other things. I’ve asked numerous times for you to indicate where, but you’ve ignored. If you have a genuine interest in disagreeing and debating you explain your position, not fling mud.

That's not a personal jibe about stereotyping but pertinent to the thread topic. I didn't refer to you in sharing sensitive info if you're talking about job roles. Lastly, you quoted me as saying something I hadn't, hence you made it up.

Unfortunately we are past the point of no return. They are not listening. The situation is incredibly dangerous.

Something more has to be done and there are going to be dire consequences.

What consequences?

JHound · 07/09/2026 11:57

I was wondering why they did not stick to tradition and wear white sheets instead.

Or drape themselves in Palestinian flags and keffiyehs.

Again, where did I stereotype anyone and where did I misquote you?

Is that the best response you can give? Please try harder next time.

Meanwhile in Portsmouth.....

Maybe the point is; we’ve got enough home grown scumbags without importing even more?

Which is a fair point. However an equally fair one I think, is if we don't want unvetted 'fighting age men' identities unknown intimidating us on the streets, why the reluctance to accept that the masked men at Dover are also a problem?

The pp was responding to this dramatic post

'Poor white men! The most discriminated against minority! We definately need some positive discrimination laws/policies to address their historical disadvantages and under-representation. Maybe you should start a charity or a GoFundMe to raise money to address these centuries old inequalities and to stop women and minorities stealing all the wealth, power and top jobs'

Maybe read the context before your 'gotcha' contributions.

I did read the context

my ‘point’ still stands….no one has said that all white men are wrong uns 🤷🏻

(to be fair it was a question and not a statement…it wouldn’t surprise me at all if someone did say it. i also used gotcha as ‘i understand’ but I can see where it may have been confused with the other meaning)

If Rupert Lowe continues to express his support for this movement, I think he will have his collar felt (which would please Farage no end). He could be charged with incitement if there are any more protests of this nature.

FairKoala · 07/09/2026 13:53

Whilst we do have the right to protest, if someone identified a protester and didn’t agree with their protest , they have the right to terminate employment/ cancel them

I understand why they are protesting but where and how are akin to the Just Stop Oil crowd and more likely to create anger than get people on their side.

I dont think they'd anyone want to see their sheets🙈 They'd probably get done for creating a biohazard.⚠️☠️⚠️

I’m not sure he’ll get his collar felt. Whether you agree with him or not, I don’t think any crime has been committed.

Protests and marches: letting the police know

By law you must tell the police in writing 6 days before a public march if you’re the organiser.

Tell the police the:
date and time of the march
route

the names and addresses of the organisers

The police have the power to:

limit or change the route of your march
set any other condition of your march

If you arrange a march at short notice, you must still tell the police as soon as you can.

The police can also:
change the location

limit how long a rally lasts

limit the amount of people who attend

stop a sit-down protest if it blocks road traffic or public walkways

If there’s no march involved

If there’s no march organised as part of your protest, you do not have to tell the police

Incitement of what? Protest?
People have the legal right to protest.

There were NO ARRESTS OR INCIDENTS.

So incitement of what exactly?

Are you going to round up all the MPs that have posted in support of Palestine and do them for 'incitement to encourage legal protest' too??

In Portsmouth there were quite a few incidents https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cm5y7rw74n09t

Officers injured and vehicles damaged in Portsmouth small boats protest, police say

Hundreds of protesters blocked roads in Portsmouth last night, after 140 migrants arrived via a dinghy. It comes after a similar protest in Dover on Saturday.

No they don’t, people have employment rights in many (not all) circumstances and can’t be randomly sacked unless they’ve committed a crime or brought the company into disrepute or breached any contractual or regulatory codes.

It’s possible that all these men are doctors or primary school teachers afraid of getting sacked, but it seems unlikely.

There were no arrests. It was a peaceful protest.

Is it any wonder they opted to be unidentifiable, when people like you are so quick to judge?

Protest is a democratic right. If you disagree with the objective, protests can be uncomfortable. By all means object, however being uncomfortable doesn't give you the right to throw baseless slurs.

This ended in near-riot last night. He needs to be careful in what he says, that's all.

WinterGold · 07/09/2026 15:04

Whether it is a demonstration/protest or a riot usually depends on which side your sympathies/politics lie.

SALaw · 07/09/2026 15:09

We should have been clamping down on face coverings at protests for at least the past 5 years. Anti immigration, antifa, pro Palestine, pro trans - all these movements regularly have huge numbers of people at their protests with covered faces. It shouldn’t be allowed. Yes, protest your cause, but if you are covering your face you are not there in good faith.
