[I categorically refuse to put the word ‘lighthearted’ in the title to indicate that Im not actually traumatised. Also because saying this post is lighthearted is just as facile as holding a little bus or building a Lego haus to illustrate my point.

I realise that I don’t need to follow Mr B on instagram but I do and I’m feeling deeply patronised:

First a little toy bus (talking about buses innit), then a Lego house (building more Lego houses to amuse the homeless), a bit of cosplay by dressing up as a Sainsbury’s man of the people (to show that you can work at Sainsbury's and a sexy uniform is thrown in) and now… throwing a cowboy hat at the camera/phone to illustrate that cowboy builders are …cowboys.

I like him. I am a card carrying supporter of his politics. I just have a very niche but quite strong issue with the quality of his Instagram output.

So far I see no change despite a whole thread on the subject a week or so ago. Surely it is natural to continue my campaign.

TBF it’s not clear what you are trying to say. You aren’t happy with Labour, fair enough. But what is this ten years that you are speaking of? You are aware that we haven’t had a Labour Govt for ten years I presume ? Were you happy with the efforts of Boris, Rishi and Truss? Or do you think we need to be saved by a party with no prior experience of government?

He wants to be liked, and I do quite like him -- more than I did SKS, although Sir Keir was capable, especially on the international stage. But I am waiting patiently for the HoC to return and to hear some more substantial policy statements.

Sad but true. But it was the same with Sunak who, likewise, was parachuted into the PM's job by people in the background. He never "won" a leadership election - he lost to Truss. The people in the background in the Tory party did whatever underhand things they had to do to ensure no-one stood against him once Truss resigned. History repeats itself with Burnham, who likewise hasn't "won" a leadership election within the Labour party.

Of course the Conservatives are going to save the day again, because history teaches that every single time Labour are allowed to govern, they run the country into the ground and the debt spirals. Every. Single. Time. And here we go again.

I was very happy with the way Rishi Sunak ran the country, and I will be happier still to see Kemi Badenoch lead the helm. She is an incredible woman with real authority, and unlike these amateurs she will actually be able to lead our country out of this mess.

I agree, he did seem more sensible and serious, but he didn't actually seem to "do" much, other than announce loads of reviews that were going to take 2/3/4 years and allowed Reeves to make some serious foul ups with the economy. I do think a lot of his downfall is linked to the hapless/hopeless Reeves and her economic incompetence. I think he may have lasted longer, maybe to the next GE had he sacked her after her first blunders rather than carrying on supporting her. Besides sacking Reeves (or better still not appointing her in the first place), I feel he should have done more when he took office. Those first few months are basically now remembered just for the changes due to the policies of envy, hate and spite, i.e. IHT on farmers, VAT on private school fees, increase in NIC on employers, i.e. hating rich people, hating business, etc.

At the end of the day, he got the second to top job as Chancellor, so it worked out well for him to be "rewarded" for his actions. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours!

I quite like him, but… all well and good cutting the VAT off my energy bill or whetever but from October, my bill is going up by £52, not once, but every single month, not quite the ‘breathing space’ I was promised…

He must be doing something right, given the low level feedback!

Yes. When it was suggested, last week, words to the effect that Burnham is a bit of a lightweight, it was pointed out he was in Ukraine. He was chairing the coalition of the willing - which did make me feel for Starmer - it was his initiative.

Yes and our stupid labour mp was outside a builders merchant earlier with stupid glasses on. Absolutely clueless. Funny how mps talk about corruption to self employed people trying to earn a living. Fucking clueless builders just won't do private jobs soon, I know several that have been stitched up with customer non payment. This could be the final nail in the coffin and we already have a shortage of trades people.

I don’t think he’s necessarily doing that but the north is always left out! We have suffered the most under austerity measures and job losses as most of the industry that has suffered was factories which were up north. The spread of wealth in the country is disproportionately down In the south and I don’t think there is a problem with trying to fix problems for the vast majority of working class people that other governments left behind.
