AIBU to be upset my OH resents doing childcare while I’m ill?

Been bed bound for 4 days with the worst case of gastritis I’ve ever had and my OH is walking around acting like it’s such a big inconvenience for him as he has had to do all of the childcare. I’m so angry as I’m in so much pain and discomfort yet he’s walking around huffing and puffing like he’s got it bad 😡😡

I feel your pain. My DH is genuinely wonderful but he gets really huffy and puffy when I'm ill. It's odd because he is perfectly capable of parenting them all the time without me and without fuss. But when I'm ill he gets really pissed off!

Honestly I've just taken to ignoring him. His problem is not my problem. I cannot take on board his problems when I'm feeling so wretched myself. Instead of being a trooper just do what you need to get through the day and he is perfectly capable of picking up the stack. Also, don't rush back to doing everything you usually do. Take your time to get back to full health. He can cope.

@Lollipop20 if he’s their dad and as you’re bed bound, then it’s quite simple, ask him to close your bedroom door and not to disturb you (so no coming in and out), while you recover. Then you can completely ignore his huffing and puffing.

If he’s not their dad, then you’re being unreasonable. Find a relative to look after them and then split up. He clearly doesn’t see them as his responsibility. I’d not want to look after a bfs kids for 4 days whilst he’s bed bound.
