Feel a bit cheated by my delivery pass

I pay for a delivery pass with Morrisons so I can order groceries whenever I like. I’ve just gone on to order our food shop and almost everything is out of stock. Not my preferred options, not a few things- but every item I search.

I pay for unlimited deliveries but I can’t place an order because there’s nothing to buy! I’ve tried changing the delivery day. But I can’t believe a major grocer has no food available

This happened with me last week with the Tesco shop. I think perhaps, at this time of year, everybody is either having barbecues or lighter meals or that their fridges/freezes were not working properly due to the heat. It's sorted itself out now. Weirdly, I've never had any problem with Morrisons and I use their online ordering at least once a week for all of our salad stuff.

LittleGreenShoots · 16/08/2026 13:51

This feels like maybe the warehouse has been closed. Perhaps you can ring and ask?

OriginalUsername2 · 16/08/2026 13:53

As it’s all chilled stuff, I’d guess their fridges are broken.

nomas · 16/08/2026 13:55

Never got the appeal of online deliveries, I prefer to select my own fruit and veg.

But yes, how frustrating. I think if you complain they may give you some vouchers which would offset the cost of the delivery pass.

I've had something like this. Morrisons seems to stop you ordering an item when it's out of stock, even if you're ordering for a delivery in say 4 weeks from now, when you'd expect them to have restocked. It sounds particularly bad at the moment but then it's peak summer and lots of people will be ordering salad and barbecue style food. I'd keep looking each day to see if they've restocked.

They’re just a few examples I screenshotted to show I’m not exaggerating.

They have no milk!!! This isn’t bbq food.

I order from Morrisons weekly for home delivery, I've never had these problems, maybe a handful of items out of stock but not much. I'd assume the depot where you order from has some temporary problems

StylesSluttyShorts · 16/08/2026 14:06

I think ot depends on are, Morrisons where I live is dreadful too, so I use Sainsbury's, but just this week there was a thread on Sainsbury's saying they're often out of stock.

gingercat02 · 16/08/2026 14:07

I have a morrisons delivery pass. That's very unusual in our store. My full shop yesterday had one sub (garlic bread swapped for cauliflower cheese????) Everything else in stock. Usual family shop, meat veg fruit milk lunch stuff bread tinned goods.

Incredulousaboutlife · 16/08/2026 14:08

The only supermarket in my town is a Morrisons but I rarely use it because it is so poor.

My son lives right next to a fair sized Morrisons in the city he lives in. He pops in once a week, some times twice, for a wee top up shop on his way home from work. And he is always complaining about not being able to get the really basic items he goes in for. The 4 pint semi skimmed milk jugs is the thing he has most trouble with. And this is at 6 in the evening in a shop that stays open until 10 p.m.
It's such a shame the way Morrisons has declined over the years.

Roastiesplease · 16/08/2026 14:08

Used to order deliveries from Morrisons. Delivery drivers told us Sundays were the worst day for orders. More stock comes in on Mondays.

Itsthewoluff · 16/08/2026 14:09

Fridges will be down due to the heat.

Onethingatatime · 16/08/2026 14:11

This happened to me this week with Tesco. 24 items unavailable- all fridge items. It’s never happened before so maybe a supplier issue affecting the big supermarkets?

Bikenutz · 16/08/2026 14:17

It’s not just fridges in stores - it’s the drought / heat situation across Europe. Smaller / damaged crops, crop failure, lack of pickers to harvest in 35+ degree heat. The cows are producing less milk. And for mainland European food, where yields have dropped, their supermarket buyers have better buying power in general so are scooping up the available supply.

It’s picked from in-store

OK, seems like a local issue then as I've had a Morrisons delivery this morning, including a 4 pinter of milk and some fresh chicken, and everything was there.

My Tesco due tomorrow is showing all fridge items oos currently.. it seems to be a recurring problem at the moment now I've had a quick google

FortyFacedFuckers · 16/08/2026 15:31

I have noticed this more and more with Morrisons

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 16/08/2026 15:45

We're on holiday at the moment and popped into a Morrisons daily yesterday for some bread, milk etc. They had nothing there, apparently there's some big supply issue at the moment according to a staff member.

Darragon · 16/08/2026 16:37

Our local morrissons has had a whole aisle of totally empty freezers for the last 2 years. Idk if they’re broken but it really puts me off shopping there unless I have to.

Gotyournosey · 16/08/2026 17:05

I used to prefer them because they used the Ocado warehouse and distribution network. Now they’ve gone to stores it’s absolutely rubbish.

This was what I thought, the range of products is to wide for it just to be fridges out

TheeNotoriousPIG · 16/08/2026 17:42

Morrisons and Sainsburys deliveries are permanently like this for me. Quite a few supermarkets don't deliver around here (rural area), and so, Tesco it is. It's rare that they have anything out of stock, for this area, at least.
