AIBU to take the kids on holiday with savings money?

Lone mum, it’s been a hard year. We’ve moved house and also I had to find a new
job. We have only been on a few day trips this summer and I want to take them away last minute next week.

It’d be a cheap holiday but I’d have to use money from savings. I don’t want to miss my chance as they’re young teens and there are only a handful of years left. We’d all love a break.

Would it mean using all your savings or just some?

If it’s just spending part of your savings then yes I probably would. But not if it meant being really stressed out while I was there about spending money etc and cost of things.

It’d only be a bit of my savings.

Use what you need, then tuck your belt in later.
Happy memories, which is what holidays usually give, are far more important than material goods,

Have you considered glamping? Or a city break in Europe? Depends on what works for you all but there are definitely bargains around when you start searching.

Do it! I hope you all enjoy it.

Well what are the savings for? Our savings are for holidays, as well as other things.

There are some bargains to be had if you can do it yourself. No need to go down the package holiday route.

Absolutely do it, without sounding maudlin you never know what’s around the corner. Sounds as if you could do with a break as well as your kids.
