OP, given the enormous difficulties which would ensue with this surgery, has any alternative approach been discussed at all? If only as a means of deferral?
After reading your post earlier, I happened to see an article in today’s Times about common gynae misdiagnoses and thought of you. (Actually about the current buzzword, perimenopsuse, but no doubt applicable outside those lines too)
There’s a bit about hormone replacement therapy sometimes knocking the reproductive system for six, when progesterone is overlooked.
The resultant symptoms sound like the miseries you’ve been suffering. Maybe you have a natural imbalance and a bit of endocrine tweaking might set you right!
Once patients had their system balanced properly, all the blood loss, perma-periods etc stopped dead. No surgery required.
I’m no expert, having had a trouble-free menstrual experience and a menopause I didnt even notice (this all suggests a different imbalance, tbh) so it’s not for me to be recommending remedies, but I still urge you to speak to your consultant about progesterone topups in case this could put a stop to the problem even on a temporary basis, if surgery can be deferred until you are better placed to handle it at home.
Excuse my being intrusive, but the article sounded like there might be a bit of a solution out there.
