I don't want to discuss her views or the potential motive on this thread, so far it seems it wasn't politically motivated. Was there no way it could have been prevented? No matter what the motive was. I suppose she thought the quiet area she was in would have been removed from crime, but that tragically turned out to be wrong.. It underlines how vulnerable lone elderly people can be. Probably she might have been safer in a less remote location but otoh she understandably wanted to spend her retirement the way she wanted.
