Can anyone help me find this old tea-for-one embossed bone china tea set? Huge please!

Hello lovely Mumsnetters, I would SO appreciate your help to find this tea-for-one set which was made about 15- 20years ago. I broke the tea pot which fitted on top of the cup years ago (and no longer have it) but I have photo’d the saucer and wide rimmed cup and the teapot lid. There is an embossed foliage design just under the top and bottom rim of the cup. It is bone china and holds about 260ml. I have tried everywhere :( . I have even tried on google images with no luck. My dear friend who gifted it to me died a long while ago. I miss her terribly and I would really love another cup or (even better) the whole tea-for-one set. She used to love BHS, M&S and John Lewis, but it could have come from another shop possibly. Please can anyone help?! Let the challenge begin! 🙏

While it would be lovely to find a replacement, you'd drive yourself mad trying to find something that doesn't exist.

If there are no marks at all it's likely to be generic, imported white china and I think you'd find it hard to find exactly the same set.

I'd imagine there are plenty of similarly decorated sets out there though.

Your best bet might be to put the picture into an image search and see what comes up.

I doubt you will get the very same one but they have loads of similar ones on amazon if that helps.

Argh, if there's no marks then it's likely to be overseas produced and probably untraceable I'm afraid :(

There are some great artists who make jewellery out of broken ceramics, I wonder if they could do something with the teapot lid so you can remember your friend that way?

I have done an image search but unfortunately it didn’t come up with the right match. I know it might be silly to keep trying, but it is very sentimental, as a treasured gift from my closest friend, so I guess I will keep going 😟💕🙏. If she was alive now and sent me another it probably wouldn't be such a desperate bid! :(..

I don't think the handle shape is quite the same as yours.

Could you somehow pay to have it remade?

Yes thats the one! So it came from BHS! She loved BHS the most and always went to their cafes! But how to find one to buy?? Amazing detective work persilaper! I will try to post that image too xxx thanks for finding the image!

Oh yes! A TINY bit different on the handle! You are good at this! Bet you were or are the world champ best at spot the difference!
I think it must be BHS as that embossing looks identical

I have triple checked and I think the set you found the alamy image for is the correct one after all. When my images get approved by mumsnet you can see…. But how to find the actual product 🤔

Keep checking on eBay. I found a beloved vintage t-shirt on there recently. One of yours will come up eventually.
