AIBU to ask the garage to fix the leak as goodwill?

Got a recall letter from the manufacturer of our car. Its classed as a 'luxury brand' car but we bought it just 3 months ago at 10yrs old.
So there were 3 recalls and we take car into the Branded carlot that sells and does repairs.

They fix the 3 things but also have a list of other things they find during the 'free health check'. Most are normal MOT things but one is an oil leak (that actually could be argued to be caused by one of the recall issues!)

The car is still under warranty from the dealership we bought from (not the official brand dealership the recall was with) so we tell them we just want the recalls fixed and we will sort the other things with our own dealership as we have full warranty with them. They tried to push us to get the work done with them but as they are an official place their prices were higher than what our warrenty would cover and we would have to pay the difference.
Which doesn't make sense when we could get it done free under our warranty.

Anyway, DH picked up car and took it to a place our warrenty suggested. He didn't end up leaving the car with them as he had a bad vibe but the guy showed him that the mechanic that worked on fixing one of the recall issues had actually broken something and rather than fixing it properly he had drilled holes into it and screwed it in place. Im not a car person but apparently this was really shoddy as its a part that is supposed to have a specific amount of air running through it or something and the drilled holes can affect things negatively.

So DH called them and sent photos of what they've done and after a day of waiting they got back to him and said they have been trying to find out who worked on the car/did that and not to worry, they are going to fix it.

Which is nice but, you know, you caused the issue in the first place so you're not doing us a favour by fixing your poor service.

I said to DH that he should email them and ask them if they would do some of the work that they called up on the health check (the leak mainly, the normal MOT things can be done in time) at the price that our warrenty would cover as an apology.

Because they broke something on our car. Didn't log it. Did a botched repair on it instead of replacing the whole thing and because of that it means we will have to bring the car to them for at least another day (with 2 taxi fees incurred) and be without the car again for another day unnecessarily when we have 2 disabled children and its actually a really bloody annoying thing when we don't have the car. Its so difficult getting them about.

WIBU to write up an email asking them if they would consider repairing the leak too whilst they have the car 'up in the air', as they kept saying to us that its cheaper to do things whilst the car is already in for something and as a courtesy to them making us have to bring it back in again for something they did!

I don't know if that is being cheeky or reasonable.

Maybe ask them to provide a courtesy car if being without a car is inconvenient.

I’m not sure they’d agree to fix an oil leak on a 10 year old car tbh, but you could ask if they’d considered doing it as a gesture of goodwill for the extra hassle they’ve caused.

They wanted to fix the leak, it was in the health check list they came back with. (Am pretty sure they get people in with the recalls to do the free health check just to rally up work with the extras they find) They were pushing for us to get it repaired with them but their prices are higher than standard mechanic prices so it made more sense for us to get it done elsewhere. But now we have to take it back to them anyways for them to fix the thing the broke so it will be another 2 days without a car.

They said because of the high amount of recalls ATM they don't have any courtesy cars available.
