I’ve almost finished my beloved Sanctuary Spa wet skin body lotion. I’d like to try something different, does anyone have any recommendations please?

The Mixa cream in the tub, the ceramide one, is lovely and moisturising.

Palmers Cocoa Butter

I love this stuff

RobertaFirmino · 28/06/2026 22:26

Nivea Soft for me. I try other creams/lotions and always return to this.

CatesandAle · 28/06/2026 22:26

Rituals: Rituals of Sakura whipped body cream. It’s expensive, but I especially like that it’s non-greasy and sinks in fast, I like the delicate cherry blossom scent, and it looks rather beautiful in the glass jar. I should maybe try out some of the other options on this thread though!

Aveeno is tested on animals so I won’t touch it. I use palmers oil on wet skin. Oil on damp skin is the best moisturiser you can use, if I’m feeling bougie i use my shimmering oil from l’occitane.

Palmers and l’occitane aren’t cruelty free either….

Mixa - urea one for rough bumpy skin or the ceramide one
for scented I like Saltair

tfu · 28/06/2026 23:10

I love using oil - nuxe when I’m flush, coconut oil of I’m broke

deeahgwitch · 29/06/2026 09:06

I have bought the Vanilla version but haven’t used it yet @AllaMovaas I am finishing off a Garnier tub - it’s the Vitamin C and Mango Nutri Glow Cream.
Which is very nice but I’m not keen on tubs and dipping my fingers into them so probably won’t repurchase.
I love the scent of Rituals Jing. It’s my everyday perfume but was disappointed with their body cream in a tube (for travel - it came in a gift set ) as the consistency was too liquid.
I will try the body cream in it. Hopefully it will be more solid.

Vaseline blue, and my skin is very fussy. Aveeno or Norwegian Formula don't hydrate my skin much at all, and I find Nivea products are really greasy, as with Palmers. Dove Body Love (the red one called "intense care") is my second choice.

Not animal friendly though.

I didn’t know that 😢

Does it need to be a lotion or can it be a butter? Highly recommend Saltair body butter from Space NK, vanilla is my favourite.

I didn’t realise there was a difference between a body lotion and a body butter. I’ll look into Saltair, thank you.

Aveeno baby lotion

Nivea in the blue tub

vaseline Aloe Vera

These all work well for every day. You do need to let the Nivea sink in for a few minutes though.

If you want something a bit more fancy then Clinique or L'ocitaine .

The garnier body lotion in a red bottle is incredible. Caroline Hirons recommends it too so high praise. Doesn’t have much of a scent but makes my skin SO soft and hydrated.

Agree, and it’s cheap. It can be difficult to source where I live but I did see it in Superdrug once on the bottom shelf. More expensive ones are displayed more prominently?

Shoxfordian · 29/06/2026 12:08

L'occitane does a new shimmery body oil which I really like

princesspadam · 29/06/2026 12:22

Vaseline Intensive Care (yellow) I’ve used it for years and always go back to it
i love buying EOS cashmere body lotion in the US and bring it home but it’s ridiculously priced on Amazon

Beachforever · 29/06/2026 12:24

I’m currently working my way through a bottle of Weleda Skin Food. It absorbs really quickly and I love the fresh smell.

I’ve been dying to try the EOS one, such a pity it’s so expensive here!

I might get that as part of DD’s birthday. I bought her the shower mousse at Christmas Smile

Dove pro-age niacinamide. Not fancy, no particular scent, but a great moisturiser, dries quickly and is cheap as chips, so happy to slather it on.

I’ve opted for the Dove Pro-Age lotion this time. Thank you!

I didn't know Aveeno was tested on animals. I'll not buy that in future.

Nivea Q10 firming body lotion is good if you're wobbly like me!

princesspadam · 30/06/2026 12:54

@AllaMova I loved the pistachio one, I wish I’d bought more as it was so cheap in target
