What’s your best tip to manage anxiety when you have good reason to be anxious?

Breathe! Make sure you breathe out especially. I like to either picture breathing in up through the arms and then out down the legs or look up box breathing. I know super simple and obvious and you might be looking for something deeper but (if I remember to do it!) breathing always helps me. Hope the situation which is giving you anxiety eases for you soon x

For mild anxiety, ASMR.
To be honest it doesn't work if I'm very anxious.
Sometimes it's best to go down the medication route. For a short while.

The concept of division of labour helps me
For example if it's a health related thing, your job is to take yourself to the GP, advocate for yourself, attend all appointments on time, manage any logistic challenges like childcare, time of work, transport etc, taking the medication correctly, making lifestyle changes. You can be anxious about those things until you tick them off and find the solutions to any problems. You can feel a sense of achievement for getting through each thing and tackling any obstacles.
Your Dr's job is fixing you. You cannot be anxious about that because it's not in your skill set.

Also to take a step back and just stop what you’re doing. Make a plan if you can depending on the situation. Write a list if it’s appropriate for the situation. Focus on something else if it’s an immediate panic attack type of situation. Breathe, focus on breathing in and out.

Meditation or breathing exercises for immediate relief. Also exercise.
Medication to help in the short term.
Counselling for long term recovery

I'm actually less anxious off the HRT I've always been a bit contrary. Diaphragmatic breathing, binaural beat or 8d music through headphones, a km-66 capsule twice daily and exercise works for me.

Oh and writing a journal. Three things you are looking forward to in the morning, three things that went well and then finally three things you are grateful for each day. The Book Let them has been an eye opener for me too.

Came here to say this

Propanolol and promethazine. Anxiety sucks. I asked on my fb a few months ago if anyone had suggestions. People recommended St John's wort and lions mane, breathing, reflexology. But what was more surprising was the amount of friends who sent me IM saying they suffered badly with it and knew how I felt. Males and females. They didn't want it out in the open, but offered solidarity.

Is this a long term thing or short term anxiety due to an event?
