AIBU to keep 18 month old off when stomach bug circulating at nursery? 5/20 kids taken out in last 2 days. She doesn’t go on a Friday anyway so it’s just tomorrow - she’s been exposed the last 2 days

Definitely if you don’t need to work!

If you need to work you don’t have much choice but to send her in.

Absolutely keep her off if you can! Noone needs avoidable D and V.

Keeping her off sounds like a good idea

D&V alert email went out and I kept mine home. A week later we went back and caught it. First dc started vomiting violently, so badly that we went to hosp and then the "D" part started just as we were discharged at 2am. That lasted 8 days. I got it 2 days after first dc then baby a day after me. It lasted 3 days for me and 10 days, I think, for baby. Both dc lost about 1.5-2 lbs. I was bleach washing towels and sheets, bleach cleaning bath room, had to have sick bowls everywhere and cover couches and floors with sheets and towels to try and prevent vomit stains. It was an absolute horror. DC was given Ondansetron in hosp to break the vomit cycle, but no script and it returned two days later and lasted duration until the D stopped around day 8.
I don't wish that experience on anyone.

Kept her off and it turns out loads of other kids were unwell today! So far she seems fine 🤞🤞
