Just that really.

I’m in my 20s, I need some good sandals and I’ve seen it reported that they work well for wide feet

Current colour is rose gold which I love

MrsCarmelaSoprano · 24/06/2026 21:42

Agree with sizing in a 7 but need a 39 which is 5.5.

MrsKateColumbo · 24/06/2026 21:46

I have 4 pairs (2 x arizonas, 1 x Eva, 1 x buckley) I love them, so comfy and come in great colours. I live in them

PrimeSeason · 24/06/2026 21:50

I’ve got black Arizonas. They are super-comfortable once they’re worn in.

Bur they are not very pretty. They can look quite grungy - and that’s not me, so I do think about what I wear them with.

PragmaticIsh · 24/06/2026 21:52

I found the top straps hurt my feet, plus I couldn't bend my feet properly which added to the awfulness.

GreyRockChic · 24/06/2026 21:56

I got some knock off ones from Hacoo. Less than half the price and far more comfortable than the real ones!

HairyToity · 24/06/2026 22:09

I have wide feet and I love them.

My 21 year old is a surfing, skateboarder, student and he lives in his and he is the epitomy of cool according to all my friend's daughters! Go for it

PetuniaTabbernacle · 24/06/2026 22:27

I love mine - they're so comfortable.

Mine are these ones (Arizona Big Buckle). I may have been influenced.

I bought my first pair when pregnant in. 1994. I buy at least one pair a year. I love them

patooties · 24/06/2026 22:31

Does anyone else’s ‘fart’ as they walk sometimes?

What are your most worn?

Hahahahaha this made me laugh.

YES.

I wore them to work on Monday (bad idea) and the heatwave induced sweat meant I was "farting" profusely. Thankfully most of my colleagues decided to WFH and the plethora of desk fans somewhat masked the sound.

SuperGinger · 24/06/2026 22:33

I've never got on with them 😕

readingmakesmehappy · 24/06/2026 22:34

Love them. Living in them atm.

patooties · 24/06/2026 22:36

I am mainly wearing double strap big buckles in red patent. Or silver double trappers. Before it became ungodly hot I was wearing either black leather clogs or tan suede ones. I have genuinely got about 25 pairs. It’s an issue

PetuniaTabbernacle · 24/06/2026 22:39

I'm now eyeing up the Tulum...

fedexxxxx · 24/06/2026 22:40

So uncomfortable and they make the farting sound when I walk. They definitely aren’t for my feet.

I have hobbit wide feet but never considered birkenstocks. I wrongly assumed they only came in 1 style and also thought rather hibby/alternative types would wear them with socks. A friend was recently wearing sandals and I commented on them. To my surprise they were birkenstocks and they looked more like regular, nice sandals that a birkenstock style. I think these are the ones and because I saw the straps and not the footbed, that is why I assumed they were regular sandals. I'm trying to find where I can try them on locally before buying.

I felt exactly the same about them a d I got exactly these! Mine were silver & they were amazing, I use them as “beach shoes” now but last year bought them again in black but plaited straps. I have had loads of comments, and they are still going strong. Previously I bought sone Papillon ones which were also good. Never been sure about them but this style is less hippyish.

AlgaeDreams · 24/06/2026 22:44

I struggle in my Birkenstocks and they have been well worn.
I think maybe it's because I have peripheral neuropathy and can't feel my feet, so feel like I'm actively trying to keep them on - if that makes sense. I feel like I'm scrunching feet up so they don't slip off. Even though I know they won't. It's a bit gutting because I bought them especially hoping that they'd last for years and be comfortable (I wouldn't know!)

FredaMountfitchet · 24/06/2026 22:45

Narrow feet here
So have to kind of ‘grip’ with toes
Off course I bought into them !
Had a beach wear pair around 20 years ago & fine for exactly that .
Bought Bostons as slippers and again fine for that .
Wouldn’t wear them to go a lengthy walk .

StanleyR38 · 24/06/2026 22:50

If you try them on it shops I think they generally just stock the narrower version, unless it’s changed recently. Could never quite find the right size for my feet and my toes didn’t seem to fit in the mouldings comfortably.

I did order the wider fit in a few sizes online and they were possibly better but I can barely remember the result - sent them back as couldnt justify £120 for sandals at that time.

Dupes have served me well and have been comfortable but are false economy as they always fall to bits. Got my eye on some Boston’s but think I’ll have to cut back on take out coffee and save up.

tttigress · 24/06/2026 22:53

Tried some on it a shoe shop wanting to like them, but they were so uncomfortable.

I understand the point that you have to wear them on. But honestly I don't think they would be comfortable even if you wore them for 10 years.

As m o the only one?

MarathonRunners · 24/06/2026 22:53

Total convert.
Won't wear anything else now.
Worth every penny.

ClayPotaLot · 24/06/2026 23:09

They fit wide feet well and have good support, though if your foot isn't quite the right shape or you're very use to less support you may find all that support really awkward feeling. The classic is quite hard which may not be great if you have tight thigh muscles but I believe they've got a newer line that's more cushioned.

I hate the way the classics look, but lots of people love them and they have a wider range of styles than just the hippie-ish sandal styles they're famous for.
