I started using vinted at the end of February to buy clothes for my baby who is due in july. I have recieved multiple bargains and items that are in excellent condition for a fraction of the price had i purchased them new. I recently started buying bits for myself such as breast feeding bras, maternity trousers and pyjamas (seraphine) and its been a bit hit and miss. I am well aware that the items arent new and I shouldn't expect brand new unless it states new with tags. I usually look at items in very good condition. However, recently, I have had 2 items which are of very poor condition which were listed as very good. Both times I opened a case and both times they want me to return for a refund. If from the get go the person has taken pictures to hide imperfections, I am dubious as to whether they will lie upon me returning the items. One of the people actually went on to admit her plan by saying she believed I was showing an item I already had and was worn out. I then was very worried about returning the item for her to claim this and then lose further money on postage as well as her then upload the item and con some other unsuspecting buyer. The item had already cost me £15. I decided to opt for losing the £15, retained my right to leave feedback warning other buyers and prevent anyone else being conned. I showed the conversation to vinted and they refunded me immediately. Other items are not worth returning as they are so low price, but the price is invariably pushed up by buyers fees and postage. However, if this is how the platform operates then I am very worried about using it anymore. I never buy anything above £15, but on the occasions I have (apart from recently) I have been ok. Those who use it, have you ever experienced this situation e.g. someone reporting an issue upon you returning the item and then keeping your money, the item and later re uploading it? What is your experience of returning items? Do vinted fall in the buyers favour? I have now stopped using it as certain people on there use it to get rid of things dump worthy for a few extra quid, then are tight when you report an issue.
