Was this a bit off?

I don’t have children, happy to be told IABU. But:

saw a dad this afternoon pushing baby in buggy. Buggy was forward facing. Dad was wearing headphones. It just seem odd to me that he was cutting himself off from the baby - could neither see nor hear him?

Even in transparent mode I still hate wearing two headphones in both ears.

Ok but you sound pretty unusual. Most people are fine with wearing headphones. Doesn’t mean parents shouldn’t wear them Just because you don’t like to.

OP I’m with you! I used to wear headphones when my DD was teeny and basically slept but as soon as she started babbling and was more interactive I took them off. I wouldn’t wear headphones when I was walking with an older child or another adult so why would it with a child who wants to interact!

edited to say obviously if he was meaningly trying to disengage (to get baby to sleep) then that’s different!

Im old but to get dd to sleep I had to walk her facing forward and not interact with her or she wouldn’t sleep
