Currently in the middle of a loft conversion. All going well and work has progressed smoothly. The loft is now ready for the plasterers who are due to start next week. They came last week to drop some bits off and one of the guys commented that he was not sure how it would work out with the weather situation. I didn’t know what he meant until my neighbour (painter and decorator) explained that plastering walls in high temperatures, especially in the loft that gets direct sunlight, will be a disaster as the plaster will crack.
The problem is the loft project manager who is insisting it will be fine. She has been a bit forceful about a couple of other issues that we have had to get her to back down on and tbh she is not the easiest to work with. She is insistent that delaying plastering will have a serious knock on effect on the trades booked for the following weeks as we still have the tiling, bathroom fitting, 2nd fix electrics and carpenters to come and they cannot start until the plastering is done. She said they are working to tight deadlines as they have to move on to other loft projects!
I’m paying a substantial amount of money and I’m not risking a plastering bodge job just to keep to a schedule. WIBU to tell the plasterers that they will have to come back once the weather has cooled if they turn up tomorrow?
