I was shopping today at the local shop when I came across a mum, she was wearing very summery clothes, a light airy short dress.
She had a baby in a pushchair, I would assume around 18 months who was in a full on baby grow- hands covered and feet covered. It is currently 26 degrees where I am. She took the pram out and was pushing the child in direct heat the sun shining on them whilet the poor child was rubbing their eyes trying to get the sun out - not crying or anything. This made me feel so uncomfortable and im kicking myself for not saying anything.

You dont know anything about this child or any conditions they have. My DS had severe eczema and would need to be covered head to toe or he would scratch and bleed.

DD was always covered in hot weather when she was little. She's a redhead and very pale skinned.

Thanks all, everyone has given been me some really insightful food for thought and things to think about! Skin conditions etc are very valid.

26 degrees is lovely, not very hot, and yes I’m an Aussie but I wouldn’t blink at a baby in a onesie, I’d often be wearing a jumper myself 😁. Babies should have sunscreen on if skin exposed for long in sunny weather in summer, long sleeves are safer.

I think I would rather have someone say something. As a new mum I didnt realise that you aren't supposed to cover the pram with muslins. Sometimes as a new parent you just dont know these things

Could it have been an eczema suit? They can look just like baby grows with covered hands and feet.

The fact OP thinks the baby was 18 months made me assume this… I’m actually worried it was me OP saw! For us putting on eczema cream and going for a buggy walk is good timing as she doesn’t need her hands and feet out for crawling and she has lots to look at so is distracted from the confinement.

I was using the buggy hood shade and a sun hat though!
