You know the kind!

Well educated, big beautiful house, looks expensively put together but in a very effortless kind of way. Usually returns home from work to their very good looking husband making an elaborate dinner in their fabulous kitchen. With a tea towel over his shoulder or apron on. Loads of cool art and furniture in the house. At some point will probably host some sort of bbq/garden party in their enormous garden where everyone will be holding enormous glasses of wine and touching none of the fabulous food.

I'd quite like to be one of these, do they even exist in real life?! Obviously without my husbands affair being exposed at said bbq or any actual drama...

No, no I do not 😄

How about Keeping Faith? Obviously lost the husband (but you could grab one if those from another programme 😄), but pretty fab home and job and still brilliantly herself and doing it all on her own terms with a massively big personality. Also liked a good swear, which is often pretty therapeutic too!

They all cook elaborate breakfasts during the week, and then the husband/kids run downstairs and don’t have time to eat it because they’re late for work/school.

It's when the person walks into the room just as the person cooking has finished making some sort of breakfast that you need to eat immediately. If someone would like to tell me the secret of such synchronisation I'd love to know. I can't manage it with adults!

The thing I mostly notice with this, in pretty much everything, they’ve got the food all going on in the pan, yet they’ve still got tons and tons of unused veg still sitting out. Like, they’re not even using any of it and nobody would take out such vast quantities of all the vegetables in their fridge, there’s more left out - obviously just to show us that they’ve been brilliant and cooked a good meal from scratch - than whatever quantity was even used in the meal.

I didn’t watch all of keeping faith , but one I did see had the most baddest baddies ever! They were truly terrifying and scary. Not sure why I gave up on it and no idea what it was about.
I watched ‘ the idea of you’ film with Anne Hathaway and she is the ultimate yummy mummy in that! A very fluffy film.

Trying buying floaty white items and not getting them dirty as well. These women manage it with little babies around!

Sleeves hanging in the pasta sauce, and getting soaked when you turn the tap on…

They look perfectly toned despite a 14hr/ day job and never have that crazy hair day/ ‘look fat in my clothes’ day either.

How is it that their hair stays immaculate!!!

Edited

To be totally honest, I watched all of them but barely even remember much apart from the missing husband in the first series!

Dr Foster’s awful cheating husband went on to buy an even bigger new house with a pool. I never forgave him for that! It was lovely . She even broke into it and he was scared of water as well , but she didn’t get to drown him ( unfortunately)

Maybe she'll have a second crack in the upcoming third series.

White clothes are something I never buy.
They are always good cooks as well arn’t rhey.
Rustling up complex dishes and have all the best equipment and ingredients around despite the long week at work. You never see clothes on the airer looking desolate and in need of folding up.

HedgehogSam · Yesterday 16:20

Or the country houses complete with resident Labradors, but not a single dog hair or muddy pawprint to be seen.

That’s stunt veg. They may have a stunt pineapple too

canuckup · Yesterday 16:29

So unrealistic

Kids are on tiktok, husband's gaming and dinner is a shit show

canuckup · Yesterday 16:29

Oh yeah the stunt pineapple

😆

JillThePlantKiller · Yesterday 16:31

Oh yes, me too, and I’d like some of those children you can tell to “go play in your room” while the adults discuss serious things, and …they actually go.

I got the kind that follow me into the bathroom to tell me about Minecraft and Pokémon.

This despite all the wine!!

Like in 'All Her Fault'? Lovely houses but then the occupants turn out to be a whole world of weird. Or like 'Rivals'? I'd by Danny Dyer escaping to the swimming pool.

With an incredibly beautiful but tragically depressed daughter and a brooding, psychopathic genius son?

Yes! Preferably one of whom is corresponding with a secret estranged relative over email, and slams their laptop shut when I pop my head in to say goodnight. And I wont think that odd at all. Prob because of all the wine

lol 😂 they’re always chopping up peppers in the tasteful and beautifully lit kitchen so I think they all live off fajitas 🤣

Giving them a sniff and remarking that they smell like wet dogs and then shoving them back into the washer…

Ah, yes! I’d forgotten about the stunt pineapple lying about! Never with little fruit flies hovering above it because they just forget and never get round to cutting the bloody thing up until it’s overripe.

Dr Foster was one of the ones I had in mind! Her house was fabulous even if her husband was an arse.

Came here to say Dr Foster!
The perfect life.... Until it wasn't 😂

And always has to have the sad attempt at being a bit gothy, with the black eyeliner and clothes and the little strips of fake red or blue hair clipped in.

And don’t forget all the bunches of carrots with three foot long ferns, despite there being no carrot in anything 😄
