Question if you are in a glp 1

So I’ve lost 20 pounds of baby weight. Another 10 pounds to go. I was tempted by a glp 1 as I also have pcos. But I know I can lose weight quite easily when I put my mind to it (reduce carbs, increase exercise etc). Weight has never been an issue for me as (well pre baby) I was very active.

However, I’ve struggled with this last bit of weight. Asked a friend who is on a glp 1 for a meal plan of what she eats (she’s lost well over 80 pounds). She says she averages 900-1000 calories. And goes to the gym. I have a sweet potato and chicken breast in the air fryer now as a “snack” as I feel so crap

I am so faint on this plan. It’s unbelievable. Whilst friend seems to have turned into a energiser bunny. Can anyone explain this. It’s a similar story with my sil who barely eats these days (admits that herself) but seems to have tonnes of energy.

Def not a glp 1 bashing thread. Just curious how you all have so much energy??

Probably got more energy because I eat more than 900-1000 calories!

Are you sure that us all they eat? Have you been to the GP to see if there is anything else that could be making you feel like that?

The glp changes how your whole metabolism works.

They likely have more energy because the glp reduces their insulin resistance. It helps regulate your insulin.

You get that faint feeling because your blood glucose is all over the place - its why its so hard to diet long term, that feeling screams at your brain to eat. The glp stabilises that so you can eat less but don't get the same blood sugar crashes.

Edited

Nope, I have totally normal energy levels when I eat around 1800-2000 calories (that been my target since starting weight loss).

Was hoping to get similar results to friend who says she is fine on 900-1000 calories. But I feel absolutely horrendous on that

Oh interesting. Had no idea about that. I thought glp1s only suppressed hunger and took away food noise.

I eat 1000 cals and take mj. It’s just completely changed my metabolism.

if I drop to 800 cals my energy plummets though.

Your calorie intake is dependant on your weight, the weight you want to lose and at which pace and your activity level.

you can’t just presume having the same calorie intake as another person will give the the same results.

I have friends on glp1 who have a very different calorie intake and lifestyle to me but we are all meeting our individual needs and losing the weight
