So, there is no doubt now. The court upheld the original decision that Palestine Action is a proscribed terror organisation and support for PA is illegal. No excuses to show support.

It is possible to support Palestinians WIITHOUT the need to support a proscribed terror organisation that's direct action includes assault of a female police officer with a slegehammer and various acts of criminal damage, break in's, damage to UK aircraft.

No one can plead ignorance now if they wave placards supporting proscribed terror organisations they will be arrested. Rightly so.

U.K.’s Ban on Palestine Action Under Terror Legislation Was Lawful, Court of Appeal Rules

The co-founder of the group has vowed to “not stop fighting for the ban to be lifted” and for the “end of the use of terror legislation against us.”

"The high court was wrong to rule that the ban on Palestine Action under terrorism legislation was unlawful, the court of appeal ruled Monday morning.
Palestine Action was proscribed under terrorism laws last year, but after a legal challenge by the group's co-founder, London's high court in February deemed the government's designation unlawful. It remained proscribed, pending the government's appeal.
Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr, the most senior judge in England and Wales, said the five-person strong panel had "concluded that the proscription decision struck a fair balance."

"She described the group as "a covert organization operating with secret cells to avoid the detection and prosecution of those using violence to destroy the property of third parties" and said "at no stage has Palestine Action suggested that its terrorist activities were either a mistake or an aberration."
Due to the proscription remaining in place, it is still an offense to support, fund, or belong to Palestine Action."

Good.

I agree with the Court of Appeal but, for the sake of accuracy, this is not yet final. Palestine Action have suggested that they will appeal to the Supreme Court. If that fails, they could appeal to the ECHR. I don't think their appeals will succeed, but until they have exhausted the appeal process or given up there is still doubt.

araiwa · 15/06/2026 13:18

What about Action Palestine?

Not heard of that group. Couldn't find anything about them. It's the fact they carry out unlawful acts, criminal damage, assault, vandalism, break in to RAF bases - they think they are above the law whilst shouting about a country thousands of miles away.

I can't find any evidence of such a group either. I wonder if the poster is one of those who think Palestine Action and/or their supporters could get round the proscription by claiming to be Action Palestine or similar. That, of course, wouldn't work.

So yes, I imagine the terror organisation Palestine Action will try lots of different ways to try to get around this.

Interesting that there is no comparison to suffragettes or other protest organisations. PA are really not nice. The comments from the highest judge summed up why they are a different type of group "Baroness Carr said that it was “not accurate” to describe Palestine Action as “an ordinary protest group”, saying the group was “engaged in causing serious damage to property” and “presented a very real risk of injury not only to property but also to members of the public”. In their ruling, the Court of Appeal judges said Palestine Action “had little or nothing in common with the suffragettes or the anti-apartheid or Iran war protest groups".

I often see people pretending that they are no different to previous protesters, it's an argument that didn't work in court.

I didn't need a court to tell me that!

The same berks that were protesting for criminal George Floyd.

The ones that think they can do anything they want need telling though. They need a court to tell them. Hopefully any further waving of the proscribed terror organisation means swift arrest and charges. Fed up with people thinking they can break in, cause criminal damage or assalut poople and then say it's ok because we are protesting. Idiots. It's not ok.

I agree, and like with George Floyd they are protesting against the wrong side!

It doesn't make it ok, and that's why he got sent to prison.

But bonkers people were protesting over GF. The world is a better and safer place without him.

And I am rolling my eyes at somebody who think a career criminal who made people's lives a misery - was all of a sudden going to turn his life around and begin helping old ladies across the road at 46 years of age.
