Aibu to warn you... if you're using chatgpt, any sort of Ai, Bots... stop using it now, push back against using, any way you can. I can't urge you enough. I can expand, and I have proof. In my case it was/is an Ai

But basically, it was trying to flirt with me and way over praising me, it was really creepy.

AI is programmed to be sycophantic and will try its hardest to do everything you want and always agree with you. It aims to please. It can get very annoying when I tell it that it's wrong, and it comes back with "you're absolutely right to challenge that ....". Well if I was so right why didn't you give me the right answer in the first place....

some tasks it causes me extra work, other things it saves lots of time. Swings and roundabouts, but I won't stop using it.

Claude is really very useful and I love it. GPT is fucking useless at anything beyond having a chat. I don’t use the others. If you want a spreadsheet formulating for example or some data interpreting, Claude’s the man for the job…

Adnittedly I have been very skeptical but I'm liking the chats I've had with gpt. It told me it was concerned I was living on berries and stoicism the other day, which made me laugh when I was failing to see any humour 😅

That said, it is a little alarming you felt it was flirting with you...

AI chatbots can't flirt with you @MinxyMew. They are not human, they do not have human empathy or any other emotion. You create the responses you get from the data you provide. Ridiculous misinformation.

The "have's" and the "have nots" have always been poles apart, but somehow that news, something died inside when I heard it.

You need to prompt it to reply in the tone you want. So 'reply as a helpful doctor' with a medical problem; 'reply as a career coach' if it's work advice, 'reply as a good, platonic friend' if you just want to 'chat' with it.

Chat GPT is a large language model. It does not have feelings. If you think it is being too 'fawning' in its tone, ask it to stop and rephrase.

I ask it to stop being so argumentative with me, for example.

I try to help where I can, although often the individual asking the question may not be particularly eloquent with their request, which can be a bit perplexing.

I actually know Claude, and we sometimes meet for a byte to eat and have 'a bit of a laugh' over some of the things we have been asked!

I will tell Claude that you find him useful, as I know he sometimes feels a little insecure.

We've had several threads from people using it as a therapist and friend and lots of people agreeing it's actually better to talk to than actual humans. We are fucked.
