Do you have a child who rarely gets a cold? You know, the one who can sit next to a sniffling classmate, survive winter, and somehow avoid bringing home every bug going around?

What are you doing differently?

Diet? Immunity boosting supplements? Superior genes? Force feed them garlic? What?

Have been enjoying fewer colds over the last couple of months and not wishing summer away but come the 2nd week in September and dc13 will guaranteed be down with a high temperature cough sniffles.

So whats your secret to autumn winter that aren't just cold after cold? My dc catches a viral fever cough every 5-6 weeks. Gets the flu nasal vaccine of course.

My youngest (now 7) always used to get sick, colds, coughs, tonsillitis, ear infections. Turned out she was coeliac and wasn't absorbing nutrients properly. Since diagnosed 2 years ago she hasn't been sick beyond very mild runny nose. DD1 (10) also doesn't get sick, she has 100% attendance for past 5 years, although was a poorly toddler. However I seem to get every cold and cough going. We all eat same food etc, so I have no idea

My kids are pretty healthy although i don’t think my 8yo’s immune system is as good yet as my 11yo, as he seems to get ill more.

Shoot me down if you like but I’ve noticed the kids off school a lot are also put on antibiotics for every little thing. I don’t think my two have ever had antibiotics.

Yes I do. He also has ARFID so barely gets any vitamins or nutrients, won’t tolerate vitamin tablets and only sleeps 4-5 hours a night. He gets a minor cold around every 2 years.
No, I don’t understand it either.
