AIBU to get one of these? Are they very noisy? Can I get a good (aka not noisy) one under 1K? Will I love it or regret it? It would be mainly for cooking and dd have a hot water habit in winter and I'm sick of boing water for that. If I could make a good cup of tea with it, that would be a bonus. DO they cost a lot to run?

They’re silent, but I really don’t think they make good tea (I’ve tried quite a lot). They always have a slightly odd taste to me, possibly because of the need to add a water softener (I think?).

I love our Quooker tap, which the previous owner of our house installed. None of the others are true boiling (I think) which means the tea doesn’t taste as good - the one my mum has isn’t hot enough. So I think the brand makes a difference. Our quooker costs around £300 a year to run and it does need a serve every year or so (£250) and the filter are expensive.

How much did it cost to buy and install?

It's the best gadget in my kitchen! Its silent, we got I'd of our kettle, we can make a cuppa in seconds, bring pasta/rice to the boil in seconds.
I wouldn't be without one now

Which one do you have @Jopo12 ?
