Why do people make such stupid offers? Someone offered 70p less on an item yesterday! 70p. Is it worth it when it was only £2.50 anyway

There are so many items on Vinted. Honestly I don’t care whose second hand “very good condition” Hollister size 6 shorts I buy. There are dozens of pairs. So I’ll find someone who is selling several nice items, and make an offer on the bundle. And who is to say it “should” cost £7 or £10 or £5?

You can easily ignore or reject offers, no need to be miffed.

I listed some jewellery, i weighed it and costed the scrap price and stated clearly that i would not accept low offers below scrap price....and of course i received lots...i did reply to a few and stated that if i wanted scrap price, i would just offload it at local jewellers and not faff about posting it off...now i just delete low offers and dont respond.

I don’t know if people don’t know or don’t care how badly they can come across. One sent me a £5 offer on a £12.50 item that I had only just uploaded and when I hadn’t responded to her within half an hour, sent ‘???’ to me 😂

🤣🤣 I’ve had someone do that to me on eBay. I didn’t even have offers enabled! They just sent me an unsolicited message with an offer, and then I got ‘???’ when I didn’t reply! These are the times when a middle finger emoji is needed.

I love to make a cheeky offer but only in items that have been listed for a few days.

i offered on a bundle of 3 items the other day. They came to £14 and I offered £12, which was immediately declined. That’s fine. Until an hour later when she reduced each individual item and the bundle then came in at less than £12?! I didn’t buy anything but how weird?

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 15/06/2026 22:41

I don’t mind offers. I just decline if I don’t want to accept it. Sometimes I’m just happy to sell another thing and make space so then I accept.

I put in offers very near asking price on things that have been on for ages, as I assume they could have gone to the charity shop and I don’t want my £ tied up with a buy it now. But I have been told since you can offer asking so I sometimes do that now if I think it’s already very fairly priced.
