AIBU to refuse tasks from my old role after six weeks?

I moved internally within work. From a fast paced intensive roll to something much more grounded and 1 location instead of a patch covering multiple locations.

I moved roles 6 weeks ago - old role hasn't been filled. IT Systems haven't been updated so my name is still as the contact for old role.

Had an email from finance asking me to do something, I advised its not my role anymore. They responded well it is your name on the system, so I need XYZ by close of day Friday.
I responded can't be done I don't have capacity and its not my role please go to X team for the info.
Then got a phone call asking can't I pretend I'm still in the role as I'm still in the business. I asked what they would do if I had left the business, they said go to X team. I replied perfect pretend I left the business.

I took a big paycut for less work and stress but now seem to be doing two jobs - for the much cheaper wage!

YABU - you work there and your name is on the system
YANBU - it's 6 weeks system should have been updated

Get your authorizations removed for everything you are no longer responsible for. Update the IT systems.

I have asked this. IT says its Comms, Comms saying IT. I put them both in an email with new and old manager saying sort it please. Radio silence now that they are in the same email🤔

I guess just keep cycling the rinse-and-repeat of your original message to them.

Of course you can refuse but if needs doing then I suspect you will have to do it this month and then handover next month

I did a huge handover. There was a 2 week period agreed for me to support. That 2 weeks ended 4 weeks ago. I am now fully on the lesser wage. I physically can't do both roles.
My manager emailed HR who have said if I don't have capacity to do 2 jobs I don't have capacity to do 2 jobs, and also asked what they would have done if I left the business.
HR have also emailed IT and Comms and basically told them to sort there shit out and remove me as the contact on the old role.

YANBU. The key thing here is you took a deliberate decision to earn less money to reduce work stress, not to work two jobs. Glad your manager is doing what they are meant to and sorting this out for you.

Who did you do the handover too? If it was a specific person what are they doing that this is still coming to you?

Thank you, I was going under and would have ended up on the sick, if I had stayed. I loved it, but I couldn't get a work life balance.

I handed over to my old team. They each took a part of the patch into there own.
They have reached out for a few things and I have helped with historical knowledge. I have no issue supporting them in this way.
Because my name hasn't been removed off the system other colleagues in different teams are assuming I'm still in the role.
They are being demanding regarding tasks that I haven't raised or know about.

It sounds as though you are well able to stand up for yourself, and HR is on your side. Irritating though it is, I think you just have to continue to push back till someone corrects the system. What you shouldn’t do is give in to any demands to continue doing your old job.
