Breast issue

I don’t know if I’m imagining this or not. I’ve always had one breast larger than the other, asymmetrical is normal for me and it’s never been a problem. However over the last few weeks I feel like the larger breast feels larger still. The area under my arm is a little tender when touched and the whole area just feels fuller somehow. There is no visible difference, lumps or skin changes. In a few weeks I have a health check (just turned 40 and this is a standard thing in my area) so thinking of bringing it up then.

Onviously my mind is going to scary places but I have always suffered with health anxiety too so I don’t want to get myself worked up in the meantime. Does anyone have any experience of this?

I would make an appointment. It is unusual for you so get it checked. It could be a fluid-filled cyst or something but there's no way of knowing over the internet.

It definitely doesn’t feel like a cyst or anything tangible. It’s just a fuller feeling, I can’t even say swollen as such, just heavier and fuller on the larger side. As I said, I have a general checkup in a week so I can speak to the nurse about it then. If there was an obvious lump I’d obviously go sooner. I’m wondering if it could be hormonal. Obviously don’t expect a diagnosis on MN just wondering if anyone had experienced similar.

I suppose if I couldn’t feel any lumps in the breast or under the armpit I would be thinking all is probably fine but worth mentioning to the nurse.

Is there anything else that could have made your armpit feel tender, an irritation from some clothing or razor or something that’s spread across to the breast?

Lastly, my breasts usually get slightly bigger when I put on a few pounds, could it be this perhaps?

I think I’m just acutely aware of any changes within my body (thanks health anxiety) and that one side does feel fuller I think. In the absence of lumps and skin changes I’m not panicking too much but NHS does say that a sign of breast cancer can be a change in the size or shape of one breast. The area that feels slightly tender is under the armpit, lymph area.
