To ask you to (gently) evaluate my style?

I am a size 18, and after significant weight loss I am trying to slowly reinvent my style. I’m used to hiding behind trousers and big t-shirts. I am in my 20s.

I have quite a lot saved on H&M and Matalan and places like that, as well as some staples in my wardrobe (mainly trousers and skirts).

My thinking is day to day, fun trousers (I have some striped trousers and plan on making some gingham trousers) with fun graphic t-shirts or some nice dresses, and these will then be pieces I can carry into weekends and holidays. My workplace is more relaxed and would allow outfits like this.

I am trying to do this on a budget so not really open to spending £100s on one item. I don’t know why some items have saved as size 8. I obviously won’t be purchasing!

I don't think you need help and advice- I think you know what you like and you're happy with it, which is great!
If you're doing a big order from H&M, make sure you sign up as a member, and about once a month they have a 15% off day online- that will save you a hefty chunk of money. Also, if you take a bag of old clothes in to them, they recycle them and give you a £5 off £25 voucher.

Size wise, don't go massive on the tshirts- if you're wearing loose bottoms, a more fitted tee might look a bit better, and lots of those H&M ones come up big. Also think about sleeveless vests, and maybe a denim shirt to layer.
Co-ords- it's a big jump to go from hiding away to a matching stripe co-ord, so just make sure you will actually wear it before you spend a lot on something like that.
Check out Tu, a lot of their clothes have a similar vibe to H&M, and they often do a 20% off offer.

Your colours are all over the place. It’s worth investing in a colour and shape analysis. I’ve wasted much less money on clothes since I found out the best colours for me.

I used www.stylemehappy.co.uk/

I don’t really see the need to be honest. I’m pale and look the same in every colour 🤷🏻‍♀️

I really like this as a duo too, it’s quite strange to look at clothes and think i might be able to look the same!

I’m also pale but there are definitely colours that look better on me. I’ve had to buy a work wardrobe for a new job. Knowing my shape and best colours saved lots of wasted money on stuff that I liked but now understand why it never felt quite right.
