Has anyone found social media beauty and wellbeing adverts genuinely useful?

They're everywhere. Adverts on Facebook and Instagram. Treating hair loss. How to get rid of chicken skin, saggy skin, blackheads. You must try this, it's the only one that works. Loads of videos of women with no lines saying this and that got rid of their frown lines. They look about 18. Apps for this and that - ADHD management, weight loss, power walking. Overwhelming. Many are scams I think. Remember that green mask thing from years ago with the fake video about removing blackheads? My friend fell for that.

Has anyone actually ever tried any of them and what do you think?

No. They are mostly scams, I think.

I bought the magical cream that’s supposed to smooth out all the lines on your chest / decollage (spelling?) - did nothing.

Various hair tools and treatments - rubbish.

Life changing mascara - rubbish

Can’t remember the others, it’s been a few years since I bought anything. I used to buy them because th videos make them look amazing, but I thought they must be true because of all the rave reviews. Nowadays I realise the reviews are fake.

however, I did buy the wonderstain lip stuff which I do really like.

No.

I don’t buy anything advertised on social media now because usually it comes from China and you don’t know that until you get the order confirmation and delivery tracking info.
I did buy the Jooycee lipstick which is actually really good however (again didn’t realise it was coming from China).
I have bought the Erborian CC cream which was highly recommended on here and I’m very pleased with that.

So funny that I was about to come on and say I don’t really buy much of it, but I did by the wonderskin eye liner and it’s probably the best make up item I own 😂

I didn’t rate the lip stain, but I think my lips might have been too dry so maybe I should try it again. But they do the best eyeliner I’ve ever used.

Dermatica & Skin + Me - both use very dramatic real life before and after photos on social media.

Used both, Dermatica might have worked if I stuck to it. Skin + Me is amazing, they really are real life before and afters.

Ulike IPL device heavily promoted on tiktok. Expensive, worth every penny. No more visible red hair follicles and can go months without shaving.
