Gosh that’s an odd way of thinking. I’m 60 and have friend’s in their twenties and a lovely freind who has just turned 100.

Imagine if two people got married, one age 28 and one age 26. When the older one reached the age of 30 would it be weird for them to have a spouse in their 20s? Would they need to pause or end the relationship accordingly?

Of course not. That would be daft. This whole premise is daft.

I definitely felt the age gap at your age as I was married and owned a house by then so it felt like they were at different life stages.

I no longer feel like that in my 50’s and count my children’s friends as actual friends even though they’re in their 30s. I also have a ton of friends in their 80’s through various activities I do.

Well surely we all ditched our friends in their twenties the day after we turned thirty???!!!

You are no longer at school, OP! You are actually allowed to have friends who are outside of your age group...

I didn't realise I was supposed to which is why I'll absolutely be making up for it when I'm 50 next year.
