Can I ask how many calories you eat on a glp 1?

Just curious. I’m also on my own non glp1 weight journey. No judgement around it whatsoever. Please can you disclose how many calories you consume. My issue is that I genuinely just eat out of boredom and having not made good choices post motherhood. I’ve lost 15 pounds very slowly. But I have made some good changes. Ie getting ready (bit of lippy) and walking to the local coffee shop instead of eating a packet of biscuits in front of the telly when bored.

Just seen a lot of friends who have always struggled with weight and had issues like pcos and thyroid issues lose weight very effectively. I can definitely keep to a deficit.

I aim for 1,200-1,300 a day. I am 5'2 and currently 82kg, down from 88kg 5 weeks ago. The 2/3 days just after my jab the appetite suppression has been insane and I sometimes struggle to eat 800cals, but it balances out by the end of the week. I prioritise protein and take good quality vitamin/fibre supplements.
I am very early in my journey though, so things might change!

I assume you saw a gp. As this would be biologically impossible, it takes 3-4000 cals a day to sustain a 27 stone woman depending on height.

1000 is something that needs to be investigated as it would be th4 first in human history,

Give over
My metabolism is shot to peices as I explained up thread
Why on earth would lie about something like that

1000-1500, but my maintenance is at least 2000 so I averaged a 1kg loss a week on that.

People are oddly fanatical about calories, and seem to believe there is a “right answer” to this question. A lot of people do significantly underestimate what they consume, but while straight “calories” is a reasonable proxy for actual energy absorbed available to that individual body, it’s not actually that simple really. 800 calories of bread and potato is going to make you malnourished, 800 calories of high quality protein, fiber, and fresh vegetables is likely to be fine. Whether you feel lightheaded on a significant calorie deficit is far more to do with your individual glycogen stores and the efficiency of your fat metabolism. I can fast for 24 hours easily without feeling at all lightheaded, DH needs to eat at least every 8-12 hours or he gets hangry and faint.

So back to OP, if you’re managing to make sustainable small changes to a healthier diet that’s fantastic. Very rapid losses whether through GLP or elimination diets or whatever are not sustainable unless there’s also a real effort for long term change, so you’re putting that effort in up front.

1200 and its taken me two years to lose 5 and a half stone. I don't lose weight on any more calories than that. I'm 64 though, it was much easier to lose weight when I was younger..
I can have more now I'm on maintenance but I have to watch it.

”Can you now see that it does?”

and the award for most patronising post goes to you @Viviiene

Oh please. We’re fat, not thick.

99.99% of obese people know the science behind losing weight. There are a plethora of physical and psychological reasons why DOING this is made much, much harder.

Eat less calories. But that’s too little, silly fatties. The amount of fake concern on this thread is amazing.

Doesn’t add up, does it.

My TDEE was 2050 when I was almost 17 stone, and that was without activity as at the time I was basically static. Step count circa 250 per day at the time.

I’d assume if I’d added 10 stone on, and still didn’t move much, that would be higher.

The deficit would be huge, and either not sustainable or certainly not healthy.

I have been on WLI (MJ) since Oct 2024. I have tended to eat 1400-1500 calories and only on odd days have I had really high suppression so as to make that tricky. Of late, I have been eating more than that so around 1800 and maintaining. The MJ has become less effective for me. While the food noise is still low, I have been eating bigger portions and snacking a bit more. I have read that it isn't advisable for most women to eat less than 1200 for any length of time as this can cause hair loss, malnutrition, loss of bone density etc.

I have recently switched to Wegovy and am just about to do my 3rd jab. After my week 2 jab, I had had a couple of days of around 800 (after over eating and getting indigestion/abdo pain) and the rest of the week at around 1200. I am surprised it's having such an effect as I have switched to a lower dose but then it is a different drug. I am having to be careful because on MJ I was getting fullness signals while eating and would stop whereas I tend to feel ok while eating and then over full and bloated on Wegovy. Given I have lost 4.5 stones, I am probably needing to eat 1200 - 1400 to see any meaningful losses so that is what I am aiming for. My current BMI is just over 27. My goal is 24.
