AIBU to worry about my job?

Looking for some advice. I think I posted about this before….

Anywho, I’ve been at this company for two months now. I had a bait and switch, but I would say my first month of onboarding was ok (there’s a training department), but they since my graduation, my manager has completely disappeared.

Two weeks ago she told me I would now do the job I was originally hired for (great news!) but it’s also been two weeks now where I’ve been effectively manager-less.

I’ve asked HR who asked me to ask my former manager 😕

I’m still doing my job so not necessarily panicking, but surely this is odd? Could I fail my probation? It’s just SO SO messy, but don’t know what else to do, beyond just doing my job!

Why do you need a manager?

Sounds like a win win situation if you are just allowed to get on with your job.

We do have processes that are standard across the whole company (we’re 1000 employees). Plus when I went away on AL nobody covered for me (although I think that can be more easily solved).

also no manager means nobody is tracking the KPIs which means no bonus.

Surely your manager is still your manager, s/he just isn't monitoring you 24/7 now you're trained? Or have they actually left?

No, she not my manager. She said I was no longer her direct report (as she was too busy for me) and I would report to someone else, but I don’t know who that someone else is.
