We’re having family friends over the weekend evening for a summer meetup to celebrate the boiling weather. I’ll be spending quite a while tomorrow getting the house and garden ready. Usually when people leave there’s quite a bit of mess left behind, plates, glasses, food, spilled beers everywhere, etc. I don't want to sound like a drill sergeant haha 😂 but I don't think it's fair that I'm left cleaning until midnight while everyone else gets to relax. I was thinking of politely asking everyone at around 10:00 PM (when approaching time to leave) if they could just spend 10 minutes helping to clear their own things away. I wouldn’t ask them to do hoovering or anything like that, just tidy up after themselves a bit and clean up after themselves (wipe up their spillages etc).
