I know most landlords follow the rules and I’m not talking about genuine mistakes. But I’ve noticed that in some situations - repairs, access, notice, deposits, tenants seem to be expected to just accept things that aren’t actually lawful, unless they push back or quote their rights. It sometimes feels like basic legal protections only exist on paper unless tenants are willing to assert them.
AIBU to think reminding landlords of the law shouldn’t be controversial, even if it’s uncomfortable?
