To expect ' family friendly' to mean lots of people with kids and picnics.

To be puzzled by descriptions of the far right march as a peacefully family day?
I saw a clip.with Yaxley Lennon driving down a road stating this and there were literally no children visible. I don't know what he was talking about in the context of what he was looking at it was just made up
Really in any case most people would not take kids.
Why in general has the truth become so unimportant? Like- I'm sure he could have got a picture of a family. But it wasn't even that important. He doesn't think anyone cares about truth in what he says.

Somebody on here posted about a march to support victims of grooming and support of children’s futures happening on the day. Maybe there were some kids on that bit?

The UTK march covered those issues so I expect you're thinking of that one.

Ablondiebutagoody · 18/05/2026 16:57

I wasn't there but imagine it just means that most people who attended would be friendly/welcoming to kids. Same for the pro-Gaza march. Like when you are on a train with a load of football fans. Loud, drunk, bad language but generally friendly.

Just because people do not agree with your politics, it's unfair to label them far right.

I’m not sure if there were any calls to murder anyone in the unite march, I’ve only heard about this from the pro Palestine march

Why have you turned it into a comparison? The OP didn’t mention any pro Palestine marches, she was just questioning the ‘family friendly’ description of the Yaxley Lennon march.
There’s this really bizarre idea on here that if you don’t support Reform you must be spending your weekends marching in support of Palestine instead. So weird and reductive.

embroideredpanda · 19/05/2026 20:40

There was a far right gathering near us recently. Their only slogan, “protect our children” except, they probably aren’t including my child in that. It’s specific children they want to protect.

I don’t think it’s just reform supporters who are concerned about the influx of illegals immigrants and the impact they may have.

No, and I didn’t say that it was. Why are you making such bizarre and irrelevant statements? My post was about you apparently assuming that anyone who didn’t support the Yaxley Lennon march must support the Pro Palestine marches… why bring the Palestine marches into it at all? The OP was just addressing the assertion that the Yaxley Lennon march was ‘family friendly’.

In this context I think they meant limited swearing/ no violence etc... although 'family friendly' is off on both sides of this sort of thing frankly - I saw a very 'lefty crunchy' 7 year old screaming fuck off you nazi fuckers we should kill Tommy Robinson and eat him all while this lovely little humans purple haired mother was laughing and saying yes you tell them. (Saw on YouTube i couldn't be arsed with this sort of march around activity regardless of my political views)

Yes I saw that little boy. I hope social services are looking into his home life. Lots of cause for concern here
