To think this women was an arse

Parking at school is a nightmare. I’m disabled as is my son so I try to park as close to school as possible although it’s not always possible. Yesterday I found a spot but it looked a little tight for cars getting passed I parked and got out to check. Immediately a women sat in a car opposite says cars won’t be able to get through. I agree and go to get in my car. She say you will have to move, I look at her car parking and she’s left a two foot gap between her car and the car behind . I ask her to move back as that would create a big enough gap. She says no and winds her window up!
i get back in my car and find somewhere in the next street.
Is she an arse?

You don’t have to move your car on a regular street at school pickup, after getting there early to park, when someone turns up later with a blue badge.

2ft is a completely reasonable gap to leave between you and another car.

OP mentions her blue badge in her second post.

Just because another poster had a discussion about parking with someone, doesn’t mean it was definitely the OP. There must be hundreds of these discussions going on all the time in busy school zones!

She didn’t say it was on display, just that she has one. And even if it was, someone seated in another car is unlikely to see it.

But valid point that this will happen all the time!

This sounds distinctly like a situation I was in yesterday and I could be mistaken but it sounds like that is me she is complaining about so if it is let me add some extra context - I had been parked there for a little while as I’d come straight from work, then this woman comes and banks up on the curb almost opposite me leaving very little room for anyone to get through. I was parked on a very deep bend where cars fly around so I couldn’t park ‘straight’ next to the curb. I left a little gap behind so my child could put their bag in. As this person got out of her car I said to her that no one would be able to get through there, she asked me to move back to which I declined and so she got in her car and drove and parked elsewhere. Not to be childish here but I was already parked safely and that would allow traffic to pass through easily, she then came and parked up and would have created an issue. I didn’t know she was disabled or that her son is - maybe she had a disabled badge but I couldn’t see. So no, I wasn’t being an arse I was pointing out a hazard that would cause issues for other people that you created.

Well given this side to it op, then it would be you who is the arse.

Sorry only just read this. Unless you have changed some details I’m not sure it’s the same situation (although it is similar) I didn’t go up on the kerb and there isn’t a bend or fast cars driving down (it’s a 20 with speed bumps)

Ive let it go now. I do feel the woman could have reversed back slightly so we both could have parked safely but it is what it is.
I wasn’t mentioning disability to garner sympathy just explaining why I try to park closer to the school.
