What age to let dd out with friends?

What age did you let your kids go out with their friends alone?
We live rurally, fairly quiet safe place. Dd wants to meet with friends for a couple of hours to hang around local village. It's about 15 minute drive from our house. All her friends meet up and I havent let her go unless its a play date type meet up. Shes 11, I know she has to start being independent so is this around the right age? We live the furthest away from village so most of the others can just walk home if there is a problem.
Does this sound reasonable for this age?

I think you should let her. If she has a phone you can add Life360 on. Also if there’s any problems etc maybe she can go to a friends house & let you know or you be able to see on the app.

I let my son go out much closer to home at the end of year 6. He now goes about as far as you’re mentioning (maybe a little closer) now he’s in Yr7 as he travels on the bus that distance during the week. Were similar to you in terms of being rural / villages

I’m a big old school and my kids aren’t allowed to “hang around” they’re either at someone’s house or a club/ activity - not roaming the streets and it’s fairly safe where we are too. My older son 14 goes places with his friends like the cinema but it’s always a planned excursion and even now he doesn’t “hang around” - there’s a bigger danger of them getting into trouble if they do this I feel personally.
A child knocked on my door for my daughter when they were 8 to “play out” I said sorry we are busy!

Im not a huge fan of hanging around either which is why I havent let her. They've been doing this since they were 9!
