Withdraw from a job?

Had the interview 10 days ago and still not heard anything. I followed it up last week and was told I would hear asap.

Still nothing.

It's internal and I was encouraged to apply.

I kinda CBF now as it's more responsibility.

Shall I tell them I'm withdrawing

Sure, if you don’t want the responsibility of the job, either withdraw now, or tell them you’ve decided against it if you are offered it. No one is going to force you to accept a job if, on thinking about, you don’t want to proceed with for whatever reason 🤷‍♀️.

If you genuinely think you no longer want the role because it’s more of a commitment then yes, withdraw. If you’d just be doing so in pique because you haven’t heard yet then I’d not be so hasty: ten days isn’t hugely long in the scheme of things, especially if there were two or more broadly equal candidates and internal discussions being had between several panel members juggling recruitment alongside their actual jobs.

I would have an informal chat with them.

I have messaged her and she said she would let me know

I’ve been on the other side of the table interviewing the candidates and sometimes it does just take a bit of time. We’d carry out several interviews over two or three days; then one or the other of us had a couple of busy days where we had no time to sit down and discuss our notes and marking; then we met to do that and made a provisional decision; then with internal candidates there was sometimes a need for a discussion with their line manager to make sure that recruiting them into a new role wasn’t going to place undue pressure on their former team and how the company would mitigate that; and then those logistics would be hashed out so there was a succession plan; then we’d be able to revert and say “we’d like to offer you the role, but you can’t move over until X date, are you happy with that?” etc.

I understand it’s frustrating, I’m currently interviewing myself and had mentally written a couple of first and second interviews off as meaning they weren’t goers due to the time lapse, only to be contacted and told I was being moved into the next stage of the process after a few days.
