Party Invitation

My friends son is about to turn 30. She is holding a party for him but she hasn't mentioned if I am invited. She has told me that several of her friends are invited and has spoken about the party several times.
I know she is entitled to choose who is invited but it feels a little strange when she talks about the arrangements every time we talk. I'm ok about it but I would hate to be in a situation where she has assumed I would be there.
Should I just accept Im not invited or ask her about it?

Ask her, she might think she’s already asked you but has actually forgot to ask

Next time she talks about it just say "that sounds great, I'd love to come and celebrate with you all if there's space but no worries if not".

Are you friends with the son?

Sunshine1500 · 09/05/2026 09:56

I think she just presumes that you’ll know to go

Are you friends with the son?

Our sons are of a similar age but I haven't seen hers in a while.
That's a very good point.
I remember feeling a bit strange that my Dad invited some of his work colleagues and friends who I hardly knew to a special occasion of mine - so thats a very good point.

I'would presume a 30 year child would like their friends there not their parents ones there?

But it seems that some of the guys parents friends are invited.

@Polly345Do you know who the others are that are invited - maybe she was allowed 3 friends and she chose the ones closer to her or her DS?
