Took car to garage 2 weeks ago to replace drivers side front tyre due to low tread. They said when they looked the front passenger side tyre was also low tread so they replaced that one too.
about 4 days later the engine warning light came on for low tyre pressure. I checked them all and front passenger was at 30psi (should be 36) topped it up and reset thought maybe it was a bit low when it went on. A few days later it happened again, checked levels and it’s at 30 again. Topped it up and rang the garage, no answer so
left a message asking for a call back. Didn’t hear back but a few days later it happened again, I rang garage again they answered and said bring it over.
When they looked at it it was damaged inside (like scratch marks) and a lot of rubber had been burnt off. It was unusable.
They acknowledged they hadn’t sealed the tyre properly causing it to lose air but have said i must have been driving it flat to cause the damage so it’s my fault. At no point has the tyre been flat and when it lost air it was topped up immediately. It also doesn’t get driven a lot, every couple of days locally.
The tyre was only on 12 days.
is it my fault or the garages? Who should pay?

The garage admitted they hadn't sealed the tyre so they should pay.
I think you need to get the tracking checked as it must be very out if the tyre was so damaged after just 12 days
Go to a specialist garage for this as they are generally cheaper because that's all they do.

They either put a knackered tyre on (very unlikely) or you were driving it with a lot less than 30psi in it (very likely).

Edit: What's the car, and does it have low profile tyres?

It’s a seat Leon. Genuinely the air warning came up and it measured at 30psi (so low but not flat) normal is 36psi. I topped it up there and then. Same thing happened a few days later and again it measured at 30psi and I topped it up straight away. That’s the point I rang the garage
